Collabtic compliance platform

A B2B compliance and field-operations platform digitizing automotive inspection and audit workflows.

Collabtic compliance platform project

Overview

Collabtic is a B2B SaaS compliance and field-operations platform built for the automotive Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) space, with a substantial implementation delivered for Collabtic. It manages auditors, service providers, vehicle inspection workflows, communication and certification reporting on a single role-based system. The platform serves OEM-facing programs, branding and dashboard work span clients such as BMW, Stellantis and RAM, and supports multilingual, multi-tenant operations.

The challenge

Automotive compliance work is coordination-heavy: auditors, service providers and OEM stakeholders each touch the same inspection but through disconnected tools, spreadsheets and email. The client needed to standardize inspection workflows across multiple OEM programs, give each role the right scoped access, capture inspection evidence in a structured way, and produce consistent certification reports, all while meeting enterprise security and SSO requirements and operating across languages and regions.

What we built

We engineered the product across a layered stack. The web frontend is an Angular 11 application using NgRx for state, Angular Material and a Gridster-based configurable dashboard, with OpenTok and Vimeo for video, CKEditor for rich content, ngx-translate for internationalization and Azure MSAL for enterprise single sign-on. The backend combines a PHP Yii 2 REST API with a newer Node.js/TypeScript service (OpenAPI-documented), backed by MySQL and Solr search. Core modules include auditor management, inspection and vehicle workflows, a service-provider marketplace, role mapping and system settings, threaded communication, calendar scheduling, and Excel/PDF report export via exceljs and jsPDF/html2pdf.

Results

The platform centralized and standardized compliance workflows that were previously manual and fragmented across global automotive clients. Role-based access and a unified communication module replaced ad-hoc coordination, while self-service report export and configurable dashboards gave teams real-time visibility. Azure-based SSO streamlined enterprise onboarding, and the multilingual UI supported multi-OEM operations from one platform.
