A guided business-loan application portal with pre-filled steps, document upload and e-signature.
Overview
Heroic Funding is a customer-facing business-loan application and verification portal for a fintech lending product. Applicants arrive on a unique pre-filled link, complete a guided five-step verification form, upload bank statements and e-sign, then submit for funding review. The wider system also includes dealer- and admin-facing funding analytics, sitting on top of a full backend, call center and OCR pipeline.
The challenge
Loan applications are where lenders lose the most prospects, long, repetitive forms with manual data entry drive high drop-off, and incomplete submissions slow underwriting down. Heroic Funding needed an application experience that felt guided and trustworthy, pre-filled as much as possible, and structured so that underwriters received clean data and documents from the start.
What we built
The applicant portal is a Vue 3 single-page app built with Vite and TypeScript and styled with Tailwind. The core is a five-step flow, business info, business funding, owner info, documents and review, with data pre-populated from the backend API via each applicant's unique link. We built digital signature capture for mouse and touch, drag-and-drop bank-statement upload with a file viewer, address autocomplete, auto-formatting for phone, SSN and currency, real-time validation and a progress indicator. An admin area surfaces funding analytics through Chart.js dashboards, and Twilio's Voice SDK enables click-to-call. The frontend is backed by a Node.js API with MongoDB, plus a call-center and OCR subsystem for document handling.
Results
The guided, pre-filled and mobile-responsive flow lowers application drop-off, while collecting structured data and documents up front speeds underwriting. API pre-population removes repetitive manual data entry, and trust signals like SSL messaging and in-flow e-signature support completion.
